CNC End mills are the most commonly used milling cutters on CNC machine tools. Both the cylindrical surface and the end surface of the insert end mill have cutting tools. They can be cut simultaneously or separately. It is mainly used for plane milling, groove milling, step surface milling and profiling milling.
一、Application of Carbide End Mill
1.Face milling cutter
Tungsten carbide end mills can be used for face milling. However, because the main deflection angle is 90 ° and the cutter force is mainly radial force in addition to the main cutting force, it is easy to cause deflection and deformation of the cutter bar, and also easy to cause vibration and affect the processing efficiency. Therefore, in addition to the special reasons such as small axial force required for thin bottomed workpieces or surface milling, occasionally reducing the tool stock, end mills are not recommended for machining flat surfaces without steps 。
2.Side wall milling cutter
Most of the workpieces suitable for end milling have one or more side walls perpendicular to the bottom surface (this surface is parallel to the main shaft of the milling machine), which brings about a problem not found in surface milling: the shape and accuracy of side walls.
There are many kinds ofshapes, which are used for machining grooves and linear profiles on ordinary milling machines and CNC milling machines, and for machining cavities, cores and curved surfaces on milling and boring machining centers.
Milling cutters are generally divided into:
1.Flat-end milling cutter: finish milling or rough milling, milling groove, removing a large number of blank, small area horizontal plane or contour finish milling;
2.Ball nose endmills: semi finish milling and finish milling of curved surface; small cutter can finish milling small chamfer of steep surface / straight wall.
3.Round nose milling cutter: rough milling with less surface change, less narrow concave area and more flat area.
4.Flat end milling cutter: with chamfering, it can be used for rough milling to remove a large number of blanks, and can also be used for fine milling small chamfering of flat surface (relative to steep surface).
5.Chfr Mill: including chamfering cutter, T-shaped milling cutter or drum cutter, tooth cutter, inner r cutter.
6.Chamfer end mills: the shape of chamfering cutter is the same as that of chamfering cutter, which is divided into milling round chamfering cutter and oblique chamfering cutter.
7.T-shaped milling tools: it can mill T-groove.
8.Gear milling cutter: milling various tooth types, such as gears.
9.Coarse leather milling cutter: designed for cutting aluminum copper alloy. It can be processed quickly.
